The Boa constrictor is a large, heavy-bodied species of snake. It is a member of the Boidae family found in Central America, South America and some islands in the Caribbean. A staple of private collections and public displays, its color pattern is highly variable yet distinctive.?

Although he lived in a society with four male members of their species, the genetic material of its offspring is not found any clue to indicate that they are the fertilized. After DNA analysis of offspring, scientists have found that all babies are clones of their mother, and that half of their DNA is identical to the mother. Newborn boas have the unusual combination of chromosomes, for which up to now thought to prevent their survival.
