The way we live today is much different than it was earlier. In many aspects. At first, we have too many information, too many knowledge, but one is evident: there is a lack of experience. Although a craftsman is able to do many interesting handicrafts, the majority of people can not even imagine to build something similar. Nevertheless, there are a few clubs in Moscow where children have the opportunity to learn aero and ship modeling . Among them is a club in the Palace of children and youth “Liberty Island”, where, in addition to fashion and traditional developmental studies, children can enjoy in creating ships and planes.

1. Is is not quite easy to create models of planes and ships.

2. Creativity Palace is located on the first floor of an ordinary dwelling house on Liberty Street. Hence the name – “Liberty Island”. Apart from it, there are two others in Moscow: “Angel Island”  and “The Island of Heroes”

3. In these palaces, also other traditional activities for children and adolescents, such as dance, drama, English language, tourism, information technology etc are carried out .

4. Bokhonov Yuri G., the teacher of ship modeling, came here in 1971, when there was a station of young technicians (center modeling). He was the director of the center, and when he retired, began again to teach kids to build ships.

5.Unfortunately, not too many children come here to learn. The main reason is,  apparently,  the high cost of this hobby. It is not a cheap one.

6. Yuri  teaches 15 children and the classes are held twice a week. They spend 2 or 3 hours here.

7.Many models have been done for different museums, exhibitions and cinema.

8. A radio-controlled model of the original ship LMC (Armoured Sea Hunter that was issued in the siege of Leningrad and immediately with the stocks went into battle) was being made by a student during two years. This model has participated in competitions and exhibitions.

9. Model of the original missile boat that was built specially for the exhibition performances. Its a real prototype – Project 183R (established in 1959 based on a torpedo boat of the project 183 (the world’s first missile boats), which instead of torpedoes were assembled into two launchers for missile hangar type P-15).

10.This is a serious model, made in the late 80s for adults of all-union competition. The boat was to swim under water 50 meters and emerge in a given square.  The boat was programmed, and the software for it were drawn with the help of binary logic.

11. This club also has a swimming pool where ships can be tested.

12.Very young children are watching on floating models with round eyes.

 

13. There is also an aircraft modeling club which is situated in the next room.

14. Rtishchev Andrey teaches aircraft modeling.

15. The guys with patience build their model airplanes.
